Medical Strategy
Medical Affairs teams are uniquely positioned to understand and educate the Medical community starting 2-3 years prior to an asset’s expected first approval.
To be effective, Medical Affairs needs to set meaningful strategic (“what we want to achieve”) and tactical (“how we want to achieve it”) priorities.
Depending on asset and landscape characteristics, a Medical Strategy can be patient- or product-centric (or a combination); however, it should always focus on few themes cascading into a tactical plan.
Any Medical Plan will require leadership endorsement as well as buy-in from the broader Medical functions and cross-functional leads, including Clinical and Commercial.
Simplicity and use of a single framework are key in structuring tactics effectively, e.g., strategic (“top-down”), or tactical (Communication/ Education, Insights, Evidence Generation).
We help Medical Affairs Leaders to build their Medical Strategy and work within the broader Medical and cross-functional teams to ensure buy-in and hence well-orchestrated execution.
